Application Programming Interface

API, or Application Programming Interface, essentially allows two software programs to communicate with each other. It simplifies programming and provides developers with what they need to build applications faster. Initially, Datadog’s API was housed on a very long, single page. Some of the pain points included the fact that it wasn’t scalable or versioned, updates were time-consuming, and there was no dedicated search functionality. I collected insights from user testing and behavior analytics to redesign Datadog’s API web page. The user research was addressed in the final redesign.
